At Luckychair, the driving force behind our success is founder Sue Jenkins, the heart of Luckychair's design and development team. Jenkins is a multi-talented designer, artist, instructor, and author with a passion for web design and visual communication. An Adobe Certified Expert and Instructor, she boasts over 20 years of experience teaching design, web, photography, and software skills. She's also a 9x published author, having penned several well-received books on web design and Adobe software, as well as an award-winning online design course developer. Throughout her career, Jenkins has empowered countless students through her courses, first at Noble Desktop in New York City, now at a small liberal arts university and with her online design tutorials on LinkedIn Learning.

For each project, Sue builds a specialized team of professional designers, illustrators, photographers, and programmers to support her in the design and development process. Each customer receives the unique and specific services dictated by the scope of work. Technologies used include WordPress, SquareSpace, Wix, HTML/HTML5, CSS/CSS3, CSSGrid, JavaScript, jQuery, PHP, WireFraming, UI/UX, Canva, content review, project and design consulting, design portfolio reviews, copywriting for the web, and more. Service-Learning outside the classroom

Each spring, Sue Jenkins, an Associate Professor of Design & Phtography and founder / art director of Luckychair.com, partners with her undergraduate graphic design majors from Marywood University in Scranton, PA, to design or redesign a website and create social media graphics for a local nonprofit organization. This provides students with valuable real-world experience. Here are two recent success stories:

Garden of Cedar - Best Website Designs of 2025, DesignRush.com

Garden of Cedar is a vibrant community garden located in the South Side neighborhood of Scranton, Pennsylvania. It is a welcoming space where people of all ages and backgrounds can come together to grow fresh produce, learn about gardening, and connect with their neighbors. In addition to providing fresh produce for the community, Garden of Cedar also offers a variety of educational programs and events throughout the year. Scranton Fringe Festival, Scranton PA / Worldwide

Scranton Fringe is an award-winning arts organization producing innovative work since 2015, dedicated to creating a bold, engaging platform for thought-provoking art while striving to promote Northeast Pennsylvania as a viable creative environment. Inspired by the world’s largest annual event, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, our organization has grown into an incubator of unique creative work centered around the performing arts.
